Who runs this site?
I'm Teacher Ken. I've taught English online with VIPKid (now VIPTeacher) since January 2019: more than 7,000 classes with over 1,000 students.
My background:
- Bachelor's degree in Science and Technology Studies. It isn't an education degree, and VIPTeacher accepts a degree in any field.
- 120-hour TEFL certificate from TEFL Professional Development Institute
- VIPKid's own TESOL training, Foundational and Advanced
This site is where I share what I've learned about getting hired and teaching on VIPTeacher. Start with the VIPTeacher guide or the TEFL certificate comparison. It isn't run or endorsed by VIPTeacher or VIPKid, and my experience may not match yours.
How does this site make money?
Some links here pay me. If you apply to VIPTeacher through my referral link and finish your first class, VIPTeacher pays me a commission. Some TEFL course links also pay me a commission. You pay the same either way, and I rank courses by price, not by what they pay me.
How accurate is the information?
Every fact about pay, requirements, and prices comes from the provider's own pages, with a "last verified" date. Programs change their terms, prices, and eligibility, so check the provider before you apply or pay. If I couldn't confirm something, I either say so or leave it out.
